What is the Catalunya Emprèn Congress?

The Catalunya Emprèn Congress is the reference event for entrepreneurship in Catalonia catering to the needs of all types of entrepreneurs, with special emphasis on the following kinds:

  2. Social economy Entrepreneurship.
  3. Scientific Entrepreneurship.
  4. Small business Entrepreneurship.

The Congress also hosts and welcomes the XX ACCIÓ Investment Forum, the principal point of contact between entrepreneurs and investors in Catalonia, giving them the opportunity to network and to do business. In the Investment Forum, entrepreneurs present their projects to the public for funding while investors can identify the ones that best suit their interests.

In summary the Catalunya Emprèn Congress is aimed at:

  • Entrepreneurs promoting start-ups: where start-ups are, as defined by Steven Blank, a temporary organization created to search for a scalable and replicable business model.
  • Entrepreneurs connected to the social economy, cooperatives, as well as supporting agents and companies in the same field.
  • Researchers from Catalan universities, from Catalan Government CERCA centres, from hospitals and other public research bodies carrying out a Technology transfer process creating new companies based on their research results.
  • Doctors either ending or having finished their thesis and that are considering turning it into a spin-off.
  • Local economic development agents, specialists from the Catalunya Emprèn network, local and county council policy makers who use entrepreneurship as a development tool, entrepreneurial support specialists in business and professional associations, chambers of commerce, small business entrepreneurs, and so on.
  • Technology transfer specialists from universities, hospitals and research centres.
